Why We Went Straight To A Working Farm

Spec sheets tell you what a machine should do. A field tells you what it actually does. Tom's farm gave us real stubble, real soil conditions and real workloads, exactly what the TopDisc is built for. This is the newest machine in the PROFORGE cultivation range and we wanted to prove it on the ground before we said a word about it.

What The TopDisc Is

The TopDisc is a heavy duty, one-pass trailed cultivator built to combine discs, tines and a packer in a single machine. Instead of running multiple passes with separate implements, you get disc work, deep tine mixing and consolidation done in one trip across the field.

It's available in 3m, 4m, 5m and 6m working widths, built to suit tractors from 160hp up to 350hp+ depending on the model.

What We Saw On The Day

Out at Tom's, the machine showed exactly what one-pass cultivation should look like:

• The front discs, based on the proven PROFORGE Inverta design, cut in cleanly and left an even spread
• The three rows of auto-reset tines lifted and mixed the soil evenly, with good fracture through the profile
• The levelling discs tidied the surface ahead of the packer
• The Soil-to-Soil U-channel packer left a firm, consistent finish behind it

No blockages, no hesitation, no need to go back over any ground. One pass, job done.

Built To Keep Working

A few things stood out beyond how it cultivated:

• Sealed, maintenance-free disc bearing hubs mean less time greasing and more time in the field
• Auto-reset tines protect the machine when you hit stones or hard ground, without stopping to reset by hand
• The chassis is heavy duty by design, built for farms and contractors covering serious acreage
• 4m models and above fold under 3m for road transport, so getting between fields isn't a headache
